A Gondola for Zürcher Kantonalbank’s 150 Year Anniversary

Sometimes, during the creative process, ideas so crazy and groundbreaking emerge that inspire and excite us all - yet they don’t always make it into the final presentation. Sometimes, however, they do.

Like the time in the Summer of 2016, on the Bahnhofstrasse, when – making the closing comments to our concept presentation – we chirped «We actually have a small add-on we would like to share...» And to think that this ‹small add-on› would become a reality, was more than a long shot. The ZüriBahn, a gondola across the lake of Zurich, is not only a celebration of Swiss engineering but will also allow the population to enjoy a new view of the city and the surrounding alps for five years. We are proud to walk alongside the project team of the Zürcher Kantonalbank – up to the departure of the first cabin.

The ground concept of the gondola was developed by JEFF in close collaboration with the specialists of EBP Swiss AG and Garaventa AG.

JEFF is supporting the Zürcher Kantonalbank in the realization of the 150 Year Anniversary project as one of three selected agencies. Along with the ZüriBahn, JEFF is also taking the lead regarding communications and the subproject ZeitReise.

«ZKB, as initiator of this euphoria, will have succeeded a great PR coup. The realization of the gondola will reap praise for being both a joyful and innovative mobility project. In the case it does not see the light of day, the bank can present themselves as the victims of lousy nay-sayers.»

Hannes Nussbaumer, Head of Zurich Ressort of the Tages- Anzeiger, in the issue of July 7th, 2017.
